Tornado World Championship
The Rimini Nautical Club hosts the 2024 Tornado World Championship, for the Open, Mixed and Youth categories, promising a week of intense competitions and unforgettable experiences.
The Tornado, Olympic class from 1976 to 2008, is a one-design catamaran, with a crew of two, capable of sailing at speeds of up to 30 knots (56 km/h) in downwind speeds and up to 18 knots (33 km/h). h) sailing upwind and for these characteristics it is often referred to as the Formula 1 of sailing.
There are over 30 crews expected (many of which are mixed: men and women), representing many nations including: Austria, Germany, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, France, Greece, Russia, Croatia, Australia, Brazil, Italy , San Marino.
The regattas take place in the waters in front of the canal port of Rimini.
